Getting Started
How do I book a detail?
Send us a message through the contact page with your vehicle, where it'll be parked and which package you want, or just call or text us. We'll get a day and time on the calendar and tell you what the job runs before we head your way.
How fast will you get back to me?
Give us 1 to 2 hours to get back to you when you first reach out. That window is how long it takes to hear from us about getting an appointment set, not how soon we pull into your driveway. Calls, texts and messages through the contact page all land in the same place, so use whichever is easiest for you.
How far in advance should I book?
A few days ahead is usually plenty, and we can often fit you in sooner than that. We work by appointment, so the earlier you reach out the more say you have in the day and time. If you need something quick, ask us and we'll tell you what is actually open.
What areas do you serve?
We cover the Tri-Cities, TN area, including Johnson City, Kingsport, Bristol, Gray, Jonesborough, Piney Flats, Blountville and Elizabethton, plus the communities around them. There is no trip charge inside 30 miles of our base in Johnson City. If you are farther out than that we will still come to you, we just add for the mileage.
Pricing & Payment
How do your prices work?
Three of the four packages have set prices that depend on the size of your vehicle. The Basic Detail runs $120 to $170, the Wax & Paint Protection package runs $180 to $250, and the Interior Shampoo add-on runs $175 to $205. The Full Paint Correction is the one job we quote as a range, $400 to $1,200, because how much work your paint needs is something we have to see in person before we can put a number on it. Prices may increase depending on the condition of the vehicle. Either way, you hear the price from us before we start.
What counts as a small, medium or large vehicle?
Small is sedans, coupes and hatchbacks; Medium is mid-size SUVs and mid-size trucks; Large is 3-row SUVs, full-size trucks and minivans. Anything bigger than that we count as extra large, which adds $30 to the large price. If you are not sure where your vehicle lands, tell us the year, make and model when you reach out and we will tell you exactly what it costs.
Can I add an interior shampoo to my detail?
Yes. The Interior Shampoo is an add-on, so it goes on top of whichever package you book, and it runs $175 to $205 depending on the size of your vehicle. It is a deep shampoo of the seats, carpets and upholstery, and we will get the trunk as well as long as it is completely cleaned out first.
Are there any hidden fees or trip charges?
No. There is no trip charge as long as you are within 30 miles of our base in Johnson City, and past that it is $1.25 a mile for the extra distance. The only thing we charge extra for is pet hair removal, which starts at $30. Other than that, the only thing that moves the number is the shape the vehicle is in, and if that comes up we will tell you before we start rather than surprise you at the end.
Do you charge extra for pet hair removal?
Yes. The only thing we charge extra for is pet hair removal, which starts at $30. Getting hair out of carpet and upholstery is slow work that adds time to the appointment, so it gets priced on its own rather than folded into what everybody else pays. Tell us up front that a dog or a cat rides in the vehicle and we will build it into the number we give you instead of adding it at the end.
Do you offer a discount for military and first responders?
Yes. Military and first responders get 10% off. Just show us your ID when we get there. Mention it when you book so the right number is on the ticket before we start rather than after.
What payment methods do you accept?
We take cash and Venmo, and cash is what we prefer. We are not set up to run credit cards, so plan on one of those two.
Process & Timeline
How long does a detail take?
It depends on the package and the shape the vehicle is in. The Basic Detail is the quickest of the four, and the Full Paint Correction takes the longest because the clay bar, polish and wax all come after the wash. Adding the Interior Shampoo adds time on top of whatever package you picked. Tell us the vehicle and what you want done when you book and we will give you a realistic window for that day.
Do I need to be home during the detail?
Not necessarily. Plenty of customers leave the vehicle somewhere we can get to it and go about their day. All we need is access to the vehicle and enough room to work around it.
Do you bring your own equipment and power?
Yes, we bring our own power and our own equipment. The one thing we ask for is access to an outdoor water spigot wherever the vehicle is parked.
Can you detail my vehicle somewhere other than my house?
We can detail somewhere other than your home as long as we're able to hook up to water there. Ask us and we'll tell you whether the spot will work. We bring our own power and our own equipment, so a water hookup is really the only thing a location has to have. A workplace lot or a family member's driveway can work just as well, as long as there is a spigot we can reach.
Fit & Requirements
Can I book just an exterior wash or just an interior cleaning?
We don't sell exterior-only or interior-only details. Every package covers the vehicle inside and out. The Basic Detail already has the hand wash and hand dry on the outside plus the vacuum, the full interior wipe down, the windows and the door jambs on the inside, so you are getting both for the one price. If the inside is the part that really needs help, the Interior Shampoo add-on goes on top of it.
Can you detail large trucks, vans and SUVs?
Yes. 3-row SUVs, full-size trucks and minivans all price out at our large rate. Anything bigger than that we count as extra large and add $30 to the large price. If you have something unusual like an RV or a big work van, message us with what it is and we will tell you whether we can take it and what it would run.
What if my vehicle is really dirty?
We would rather see it dirty than have you apologize for it, because a vehicle that has been let go is exactly where a detail makes the biggest difference. Fair warning on the price though: prices may increase depending on the condition of the vehicle. A rough interior is usually a good fit for the Interior Shampoo add-on. We will look at it, tell you what it will take, and you decide before we start.
Do you work in the rain?
We keep an eye on the weather. Light rain does not get in the way of interior work, but if conditions are not right for the exterior we will move the appointment, and a weather reschedule never costs you anything.
Comparisons & Alternatives
How is this different from a car wash?
A car wash pulls the loose dirt off the outside and that is about where it stops. Our Basic Detail is hands-on work: hand wash and hand dry, wheels and rims, door jambs and windows, plus a full vacuum and interior wipe down. From there you can add wax over the paint or step up to the Full Paint Correction. It is a different level of work and it holds up a lot longer.
Is mobile detailing as good as a shop?
We bring the same products and equipment to your driveway that we would use anywhere else, and while we are there your vehicle is the only one we are working on. You also skip the drop-off, the ride home and the waiting room, which is the whole reason most people call us in the first place.
Should I get the Wax & Paint Protection or the Full Paint Correction?
The Wax & Paint Protection package is the Basic Detail plus a wax coat that protects the paint you already have, and that is the right call for most vehicles in decent shape. The Full Paint Correction goes further with clay bar, polish and wax to work on the finish itself, so it is the one for paint that looks dull, swirled or neglected. If you are not sure which your vehicle needs, we will take a look and tell you straight.
Do you do paint coatings?
No, coatings are not something we do. What we offer for paint is the Wax & Paint Protection package, which is the Basic Detail plus a wax coat over the paint you already have, and the Full Paint Correction, which goes further with clay bar, polish and wax. A coating is a real product and it is worth pricing out with a shop that installs them, we just are not one of them. There is an honest write-up in our resources section if you want to know what a coating actually does before you spend the money on one.
Policies & What to Expect
What if I am not happy with the detail?
If you're not satisfied, we come back out and make it right. So tell us what is bothering you rather than sitting on it. We would much rather hear about it and take care of it than have you driving around unhappy with work we did.
What is your cancellation policy?
No same-day cancellation fee. Things come up on our end too, so we'd rather be fair about it than charge you. If your plans change, let us know as early as you can so we can offer the slot to somebody else. It goes both ways too, so if the weather turns and we are the ones moving the appointment, there is no charge for that either.
Still Have Questions?
We're happy to help. Reach out and we'll get back to you about an appointment within 1 to 2 hours.
